Last day in Philadelphia.
This morning, my alarm was set for 6:30am. I was ready, ready, ready, to run 3.5 miles in the beautiful hotel gym.
Happy and ready to go!
I even took the iPad to watch a movie.
And then I started running.
And it was terrible.
My hips hurt. My knees hurt. My legs felt heavy. I tried going slow. I tried focusing on the movie. Nothing worked. And then my brain took over and forced me to quit after 11/2 miles. Sometimes you just don’t have it, you know?
Sigh. Post-run, ate some banana chips and coconut water for breakfast.
And then we headed off to the conference. BEAUTIFUL day!
Grabbed a few items from the abysmal conference “breakfast” selection.
We had some more talks. Learned some more things. And then went on a break to tour the museum our conference was being held in.
After a few more sessions, we headed out to Fork, Etc. a cute little cafe we were looking to try.
LOVED it as soon as we walked in.
I ordered the 3-sides platter, with quinoa salad, fruit and roasted potatoes.
And some lunchtime wine.
And we got to sit at the window counter and people-watch.
Post-lunch, we HAD to go back and experience some of the awesome desserts.
And somehow came back with desserts and a slice of this AWESOME pizza.
Lunch #2!
Heather sliced it four ways.
It was fantastic! And then desserts. I got a brownie.
Looked beautiful. Tasted great. Felt dry and crumbly.
Bummer.
Headed back for the last few sessions and then did a nice riverfront debrief with my cohorts. And some cherry water ice and soft pretzels.
Tis our last night in Philly, and OF COURSE, we headed out to get a cheesesteak. Wish me luck!
