chai, rosemary bar nuts, chocolate chip dough balls, pumpkin pie and chunky cranberry applesauce
Holy cow, I forget how much time it takes to do Holiday cooking each year. Phew, I’ve been on my feet whipping up Thanksgiving magic for five hours! And I’m not even doing the majority of the cooking this year! Before I embarked on dirtying every dish in the kitchen, I whipped myself up a cup of warm, frothy chai.

Using this chai mix from Oregon Chai.

I don’t remember where I read it, but the person to come up with idea of using an immersion blender to froth up milk is seriously genius.

First up on the cooking docket—Angela’s rosemary bar nuts.

These’ll be nice for snacking on while watching football and steaming the green beans, tomorrow. Oh, and maybe, like Angela, eating them while drinking a beer and watching hockey tonight. Go Hawks!

They are delicious! My hand was like a magnet to the cookie sheet while these were cooling. I finally had to put them into a Mason jar just so I wouldn’t eat the whole batch.

After the roasted nuts, I moved onto Chocolate Chip Dough Balls.

I made a batch of these on Sunday night and by Monday afternoon they were gone. These are some seriously amazing cookies.

Just a little crunchy on the outside and doughy and creamy inside. Seriously, if you like doughy cookies, make these.

These would be great for Santa. I have it on good authority that Santa is cookie dough fan.

After cookies (or really, while the cookies were baking), pumpkin pie!

No recipe because I literally use the recipe on the back of the Libby’s pumpkin can. Easy peasy. And delicious!

My only change is that I double the filling for one pie crust. I like a lot of pumpkin custard goodness.

And the last bit of cooking today, a recipe you are probably sick of, my very own Chunky Cranberry Applesauce.

This is my favorite non-traditional substitute for a traditional item on the Turkey Day table.

And now, I’m sitting down and hoping the dishes will do themselves.
Oh, and my dinner? My dinner was 3-4 chocolate chip dough balls, 5-7 handfuls of bar nuts, a spoonful of applesauce and some pumpkin pie filling. What? It’s quality control.
rain, rain, go away.
Holy rare mid-weekday post, Batman!

It is miserable outside. Pouring rain and hovering right around freezing. I have been so cold and miserable all day. Ugh! And it is supposed to be like this for Turkey Day, too.

I peeled off from work a bit early to devote myself to doing some Thanksgiving cooking. But before I strap on the proverbial apron (because I don’t have an actual one *coughhintchristmasgift*), it was lunch time! Soup was really the only option for how incredibly cold I was. Dug this can out of the pantry.

And put in a few splashes of the beloved red pepper soup to thicken.

Soupy!

With some crackahs + cheese.

The soup was actually very good! It tasted like pizza soup. Whatever that would be.

Next up, cookin’! Some ingredient hints for you.
