I teased this drink a little bit on Tuesday, but trust me,ย it was so hard not to shout from the rooftops about how absolutelyย incredible, refreshing and delicious this recipeย is!

When I was trying to think of recipes to use up my cucumber overload, I really wanted to try something that stepped out of the box. My thought process went something like this:

I need a Thirsty Thursday drink. And I should really use up some cucumbers. Oh yeah, there was a Gilmore Girls episode where they kept drinking cucumber water. Maybe I should do that. Nah. “Add cucumber to water” is not a recipe. What if I added sugar? Then it’d be like a cucumber-ade. Or maybe just add the lemon. Cucumber lemonade! GENIUS.

*Google it.*

Wait, people make cucumber limeade? That’s even genius-y-er!

The result is delicious. I really am not sure there is a better hot weather beverage out there.

Before diving into making the limeade, you’ll need to make simple syrup. Simple syrup is something good to always have around if you are a frequent cocktail and beverage maker. We just keep a bottle of it in the fridge at all times. To make simple syrup, just boil equal parts sugar and water until the sugar is completely dissolved.

This was so delicious it actually made me want to go to the gym and sweat a ton so I could come home and have a refreshing glass of cucumber limeade. While Babyface was drinking his glass, he kept saying “Mmm. This is so good.” after every sip. Can’t-stop-good!

  1. I’ve been looking for ways to cut back on my soda intake, so I’ve been trying fruit teas, i came across a cucumber white tea/mint from Tazo. then i saw this recipe and i’m sooooooo going to try and infuse your recipe with the tea and some sparkling water for those yummy bubbles. Can’t wait to try your recipe ^__^

  2. Loved this!!! I don’t like overly sweet drinks so I only added half the simple syrup! But it is sooooooo good and refreshing! Thanks!

    1. Yay! So glad you liked it. I left the simple syrup as a range because people are so different on how they like their drinks. I like mine not-so-sweet, too!

  3. A white sangria is one of my favorite summer drinks; taking advantage of all the in-season summer fruits!

But I love cucumber in my gin and tonic! Cucumber limeade will be my next venture! Sounds refreshing and yummy!

  4. UHHHHmazing. This sounds so, so refreshing. Do you think it would work if you juiced the cucumber in a juicer and then added the rest of the ingredients as well? Or should it be blended?

  5. Cucumber is definitely one of my favorite drink ingredients. In fact I found a cucumber vodka this past fall and have been pairing it with club soda and limes and it is the bomb. So fresh and crisp tasting! You could try making a homemade version of the vodka (or even gin!) with all the cucumbers you have!
