1. When I feel overwhelmed, I like to schedule my day out to the minute. Organizing the things I can control (my schedule) helps me handle the stress of things I can’t (work, getting sick, etc.).

2. When the doctor says something like, “I’m surprised…” or “I expected…” I feel like I didn’t study hard enough for the quiz and now I’m going to get a bad grade. I went to the doctor on Friday and he asked if my throat hurt. I told him it didn’t and then, after looking at it, he said, “I’m surprised it doesn’t hurt, it looks terrible.” F-. My throat is supposed to hurt! Duh! I knew that one. How could I be so stupid? Oh wait…

3. I didn’t realize Mucinex DM caused so much drowsiness. I took two before work yesterday. I was a zombie space cadet all day. On the bright side, my Monday went by in a floaty, cozy, fluffy haze.

4. Almost daily, I find myself daydreaming about our upcoming anniversary trip to the beach. It can’t be healthy to live for my next vacation instead of in the present, but damn, that ocean looks welcoming. Also, this picture is definitely my desktop wallpaper at work. Someone bring me a pina colada, stat!

5. Babyface and I have (literally) watched 100 episodes of How I Met Your Mother over the past few weeks. We are officially obsessed. No spoilers! We’re only halfway through season five.

    I’ll reply in kind:

1.) When I feel overwhelmed, I make long to do lists divided by categories such as work, personal, house, cars, etc. My husband laughs at them.

2.) When I get my blood pressure taken at the doctor, I get nervous that it’ll be high which consequently makes it high. It’s exactly like a school exam. Sigh.

3.) I thought I could handle one NyQuil before bed. I was wrong.

4.) Same! It is 106 days till we leave. Not that I am counting.

5.) My obsession isn’t as healthy. I’ve been fighting a particular scale number since the 18th of November and am getting seriously frustrated. My mother keeps encouraging me to continue my healthy lifestyle and eventually enjoy the change because it’s sure to come. Easy to hear, but not to believe.

I’m exact same way with my heart rate! When she was taking my pulse this time, she was like “Just relax.” and I wanted to scream at her that telling me to relax just stresses me out!

I went through the How I Met Your Mother phase last year and have now moved onto The Big Bang Theory…it is HILARIOUS. I’m sure that you’ve already watched it because I believe everyone else in the universe found out about it before me…BUT if you have not, you must see it. I want Sheldon to be a real person so that I can be his friend haha

PS – I took an Ambien to help sleep on Sunday night but apparently took it too late in the evening because I don’t really remember most of my Monday morning, which I’m honestly not really upset about at all.

    Have a wonderful Tuesday :)

I do the same thing with the calendar/scheduling! I also make long to do lists with things like “take shower” and “eat lunch” on them. My husband/mother/friends all laugh at me but it seriously helps me!

I like to write down what I need to do, but on an open ended list (unless I have a deadline) because I find scheduling myself makes me MORE anxious!

Our fifth wedding anniversary is this June and I’d really like to plan a vacation somewhere – I just hope we can find the funds.

Only on days that I workout in the morning (which is once or twice a week). 5:45am on days I don’t. And around 7am on days I don’t have to work. I’ve always been a morning person. :)

Hunni and I re-watch old episodes of HIMYM just because we love it so much. We power watched it to be current before the new season started. We did the same with LOST before the last season.

We are now obsessed Big Bang Theory.

My confession: I started wearing my hair curly again because it means I have to wash it less. That extra half an hour of doing my hair means I can read my book, sleep or watch TV.

LOVE How I Met Your Mother! My husband and I re-watch old episodes when there’s nothing on and we want to watch something.I too cannot believe you are up at 4:45 in the morning!

Yes!! One of my most effective ways to cope with stress is to organize – my schedule, my apartment, my life. In college, my apartment was always at its cleanest during finals week. =)

I’m with Gretchen… 4:45!!?!?! In the MORNING??!?! No thank you very much. (I’m a horrible grouch in the morning.)

I work better with a schedule, too, but not quite that detailed. And I really dislike it when my schedule has to get rescheduled!
