orange pom-berry smoothie

Posted on Jan 18, 2012 in Food

I don’t tend to post smoothie recipes on BTHR all that often. I think smoothie “recipes” are kind of a cop out. Smoothies are so fool-proof. Just throw things in a blender and go. It’s one of those items that you do not need a recipe for and you certainly don’t need me telling you what you’d like in a smoothie.

And then I made this smoothie. And it was so good I wanted to shout from the roof tops.

So here we are, sharing a smoothie recipe. It’s stupendously easy, but incredibly flavorful. It’s also jam-packed with antioxidants that help repair cell damage. Healthy cells=lower risk of cancer, heart disease, arthritis and even the common colds. Antioxidants are our friends.

Bonus: it totally looks like the “blood” they drink on The Vampire Diaries. #fangirl*

* Actually, Babyface was the one who pointed it out. Not me.

  2. Mmm that really does look like an amazing smoothie – I love it when smoothies are really vibrant colours!
I’ve never even thought of putting clementines in a smoothie before which shows that sometimes, smoothie recipes are justified :-)

  3. My favorite is strawberry mango!

  4. Mmm, I know smoothies are easy and not exactly a science, but I still love seeing smoothie “recipes.” I think of them more a smoothie “ideas.”

  5. I would recommend adding raspberry or orange sherbert along with a protein powder to any smoothie – yummie and healthy
