things i’m digging…

1. My pink hair!

I hit the salon late last week and had my favorite stylist cover up my faded red with a deep red-violet, pinkish color. I wanted to go pink  for the Avon Walk, but I was worried the pink would be a little juvenile (says the girl with glitter nail polish), but my stylist managed to do a pink that works on an (almost) 29-year-old. I love it. Love it. Love it. And, it’s always nice to spend a few hours chatting with the ladies at the salon while sipping on a latte.

2. Angelfall.

You all probably picked up by now that supernatural YA novels are my jam, but this one is a stand out. I love it, love it, love it. I’ve read a lot of books in this genre (it’s pretty popular) and this one is definitely special. The premise is awesome, the characters complex and the drama fantastic. Highly recommended if you like this kind of book.

3. Newman’s Own Thin & Crispy Pizzas

These guys are my favorite frozen pizzas. They are almost always on sale at my local grocery store, they are tasty and I like that they are all-natural. Plus, I always love buying Newman’s Own because they give all their proceeds to charity. And if you are calorie-counting, the thin crust on these make them a pretty moderate choice.

4. One Minute Peanut Butter Cake.

Is it wrong that I’m digging one of my own recipes? Because I totally am. I’ve been really into my microwave peanut butter cakes lately since I realized I could make it with powdered peanut butter.  Under 200 calories for a batch if you skip the frosting. Yum!

5. Moving out of an apartment.

I am so sick of apartment life, friends. Loud neighbors, no space, no privacy. I am so excited that we only have three (or so) more weeks left living in this box life. Renting has been the right choice for us, but both Babyface and I are really excited to have our own space. Both of us grew up in the country, and living this kind of city life never really “fit” with who we are.

What are you digging?

  2. I seriously LOVE your hair! SO stinkin’ cute! :D I wish it was okay to do something like that at my job. Boo!

I will have to check out that book- thanks for the recommendation! I think we have pretty similar book tastes and I just finished Insurgent(sequel to Divergent), and was looking for a new book to check out! :-)

  3. I love your pink hair too!
I like pretty much every Newmans Own product I’ve tried- but never had the pizza.
Man, I love living out in the country. We are about 4 miles from “downtown” in our city, but my view is cowfields and mountains. I love it.

  4. Love your hair! I wish my boss would go for that…Haha!

  5. Love you hair!

That’s so exciting that you get to move to your own place soon! That will be great!

  6. not going to lie – you pull off the pink hair very well!
Oh appartment life – I am moving into my first one in august and am a little ancy. Thank goodness it is just me and my best friend.

  7. Found your blog today, been enjoying your writing immensely. I’ve never colored my hair in my life, but I think this year I’m going to take the plunge and get my end of my hair died a pink color like this for my birthday: http://pinterest.com/pin/254171972690131888/ which is similar to yours. I’ll be turning 27, so I hope it’s not too juvenile either–yours looks great, so it gave me a bit of a boost in confidence that mine will look awesome too.

  8. It is NOT wrong of you to dig your peanut butter cake recipe! I don’t think an entire week has gone by since I found that recipe that I don’t make it. Sorry for all the negatives, especially since this recipe is such a positive! Dig away and, um, I think I need to go make one right now!
