what i ate wednesday: to the store

We finally caved and went to the grocery store. Like a full on menu-making, restocking grocery store trip. I was really trying to avoid doing that before we moved, but I couldn’t handle another pantry-diving meal. I was craving some serious culinary creativity, and I really struggle with being creative when all I have on hand are cans of pinto beans. So, to the grocery store. I guess I’ll just have to box up and move the pantry. I can’t deal with throwing away perfectly good food. Onto the eats…

Breakfast was a green smoothie. Made with vanilla almond milk, banana, spinach, chia seeds, and protein powder. I’m crushing on this green color with my hot pink tumbler.

We headed to the store in the morning and I snacked on a KIND bar while going through the store. This one was crazy good.Yum!

Once home from the store, I snacked on some banana pieces (leftover from these pictures) while putting away groceries.

And then Babyface gave me a partial pour of his beer. Yummy!

After groceries were put away and I’d finished some cooking, I pulled together some lunch. A leftover smoked sausage, some bell pepper strips and a Cheddar Bay Biscuit! Made by the Babyface. So yum.

Along with lunch, I had a nice glass of sweetened sun tea.

For an afternoon snack, I grabbed a handful of ruffle-y chips. Why are ruffle-y chip so much better than the non-ruffled kind? Ruffles are where it’s at.

After a few episodes of Gilmore Girls, we dug into dinner. Greek quinoa salad (recipe coming up this week) plus some pita chips for dipping and crunching.

And then a 5 minute peanut butter square for dessert.

A few hours later, I was feeling a bit snacky, so I had a small bowl of watermelon.

What’s the best thing you ate yesterday?

The Greek quinoa salad. So yum!

    Oooo I’m looking forward to that quinoa recipe.

    My lunch yesterday was the best – a whole wheat tortilla wrap with pollo asado chicken strips, a little shredded cheese, lettuce, and a squeeze of lime. Simple but really delicious. Served with a passion tea arnold palmer that I am newly obsessed with.

    An omelet with leftover tomato and mushroom mixture with some ricotta cheese. It is hand dipped ricotta and it’s amazing!!

    My momma made me Catfish, fried potatoes & hushpuppies for dinner yesterday. We also had a yummy desert that had blueberries, strawberries and marshmallows in it. Totally NOT good for me but it was delicious!!!
