things i’m digging…

1. Spoiled Glitter Nail Polish

Y’all know I’m a big fan of sparkly nail polish, but one of the biggest annoyances of the stuff (right behind how annoying it is to take off) is that it often takes four or five coats to get a really good, thick coat of sparkles. Not with this stuff! The glitter density (technical term!) is high. They have big glitter and micro glitter versions and both are awesome. The only issue? The brush on these kinda sucks. It’s wide, so if you have tiny nails, you might need to use a different brush. But for $1.99 a pop (at CVS)? I’ll take it.

2. This orange horse.

We bought him from Tuesday Morning this past weekend. Isn’t he amazing? It was such a random thing to round the corner from all the cheesy Christmas decorations and made-for-TV products and see a giant ceramic orange horse looking at you. It was love at first sight. We’re still trying to think of a name for him. Suggestions are welcome.

3. Our reciprocating saw.

Our first tool purchase as new homeowners is this brand spankin’ new reciprocating saw! It’s seriously badass and makes my arms shake like Jello. I think the first time you run out to Lowe’s to buy some power tool should be celebrated as a rite of passage. There should be champagne and cake and balloons and little tool-shaped confetti! More about why weΒ neededΒ to run out to Lowe’s over at The Broken Plow.

4. Raspberries.

We were able to find a nice big box of organic raspberries at Trader Joe’s this past weekend for an insanely cheap price. I want to put them on everything I eat. And swim in them. Mmm, a swimming pool filled with raspberries. Fun and delicious!

5. Β Seeing my husband so happy.

Since moving, it has been really, really obvious that Babyface is in his element. He has the space, time and resources to work on almost all of the projects he wants to. He gets to see out ideas that before were just…ideas. He’s so happy and it’s so obvious (partially because he says, “I’m so happy.” to me at least once a week). I’m still in adjustment mode (I’ll get there!), but he is perfectly settled and that makes me so happy.

What are you digging right now?

It’s not so bad to take off if you soak a cotton ball in nail polish remover and then secure it to your finger with aluminum foil. After 3-4 minutes, the glitter comes right off!

The horse is cute. I think you should call it Tang. I say that because the color reminds me of the bright orange Tang drink..haha. Things I’m digging right now are KBC Blueberry Wheat Ale that I picked up from my first trip to TJ’s. It tastes and smells very much like blueberries. I’m also digging book #2 of the Discovery of Witches trilogy “Shadow of Night”. If you have not read a Discovery of Witches, it is a must read. It is a vampire, witch, daemon books for adults that will keep you enthralled from beginning to end, and you don’t have to wait a year for book #2 like everyone else because it just came out on July I’m totally digging fresh berries (strawberries & blueberries) in my spinach salad with some grilled chicken, toasted pecans, feta cheese and raspberry vinaigrette.

      Oooh! I like Tang!!!

I’ve tried to get through Discovery of Witches twice and couldn’t get sucked into it. But I hear such good things about it! I should try again. :)

I didn’t realize book number two was out. I read the first but I didn’t love it. It was just okay for me, but how it ended got me interested to read the second one!

Have you tried that Crackle polish that adds a glittery, antiqued overcoat to your p,ain polish? I thought of you when I used it! It’s fun, and all my kindergarten girls admire it!

    • Cassie says

No I haven’t, but I’ve seen it and wanted too! But then I get distracted by all the glittery nailpolishes. πŸ˜›

He IS a “Tang horse” (Google it and you’ll see) so I agree – due to his color and style, he should be called Tang. Wonderful to see how much you guys are enjoying your new place!

We have raspberry canes in our back yard (planted by the former owners) and right now they are bearing enough for me to have a bowl of raspberries for dessert every night. Every night! I feel like a rich person. It’s awesome. :)

Okay I’m just dying to see your man’s tattoo close up!! haha. I remember when I first moved into my condo home depot became my best friend! I was buying light fixtures, paint, an electric drill… I went a little nuts. Lol the nesting part is the most fun though!!
