I am 100% back on the Swagbucks train. If you’ve never heard of Swagbucks, it’s a free digital currency site where you can earn prizes. Basically you do all the things you normally do online like search the web and shop, but do it through their site. By doing this, you earn digital points called Swagbucks. You then trade in those Swagbucks for prizes. Two years ago, I was able to redeem my Swagbucks for almost $400 in Amazon gift cards, which I then used to help pay for Christmas gifts. It’s totally legit and an awesome way to earn a little extra something on the side. Highly recommended.
2. My planner.
After years of struggling to find a planner that I liked, I finally decided to bite the bullet and make my own. I love paper planners (mostly because I love doodling on them), but I’ve never really found one that “fit” with my lifestyle. So I’ve been tweaking this one for weeks, printing out a week at a time, working with it, making changes, etc. And I think I’m finally to a point that I’m ready to print it and have it bound. It has spots for appointments, to-dos, workouts, menu-planning, and blog posts. And my favorite part, a weekly tracker for health goals (like tracking food, drinking water, and workouts). It’s pretty much perfectly designed for me. Yay! I can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner.
3. Our new CSA.
I’m going to write a whole post on this next week, but we joined a new year-round CSA this past week and it’s amazing. We’ve been members of different CSAs for years, but this one’s model is totally different and totally amazing. We’re in love. My favorite part? We can add/change our order at anytime. Need an extra dozen eggs? Just add it on the website. Want to hold it for a week because were on vacation? Just go the website and they’ll credit your account for the next week. Want to add an extra bunch of kale? Done. It’s basically like an online grocery delivery company and CSA got together and had a baby. And we can get everything from produce to cheese to syrup to desserts to fresh pasta. And it’s all local and amazing quality. We pretty much don’t have to go grocery shopping anymore. Love.
We’ve been pretty low on the snowfall for the last few winters, but this past week has more than made up for it! We got a couple of inches on Boxing Day, then about four more a few days later and then another few inches last night. We’re in a beautiful winter wonderland! We’re having a blast sledding and watching Puppyface frolic through the powder. And sledding is a kick-ass workout when you have to hike back up the kind of hills we have on our property. Sledding > going to the gym.
You all know I love, love, love Christmas, but I also love, love, love stripping all the decorations away afterward. It feels so nice to clean everything out and make everything fresh and new for the new year. Christmas decorations make everything feel all warm and cozy and full, but there is something really refreshing about the simplicity of your house after all the decorations are stripped away. It’s almost like it’s the first sign of Spring! Almost.
