For a few weeks now, I’ve been using my own homemade planner. It’s been amazing. Being able to make documents like this for myself is definitely one of the perks of being a pro graphic designer! I got to customize the thing to track the exact stuff I want to keep track of during the week. I’ve teased it a few times on the blog and social media, and every time, you folks have gone crazy asking if you can buy it or download it anywhere. I’m totally flattered by all the buzz!
But honestly, I struggled with this request mostly because the planner is uniquely customized for me and (probably) me alone. There are a lot of generic things, but also a lot of specifics (like, say, cleaning the TV room on Thursdays) built into my planner that just didn’t make it a good fit for offering for free to everyone.
Then someone suggested on Instagram that instead of offering my whole customized planner, I offer one fill-in-the-blank printable weekly version for you guys to trick out however works for your healthy lifestyle. Genius!
So I stripped away all my custom stuff and left the spots for appointments, to-dos, and, my favorite part, healthy lifestyle tracking. Each day has a tracker for water intake (eight glasses a day!), a place to schedule your workout for the day and a spot to jot down your eats. At the start of the week, just print out your planner page, fill in the dates and get to planning!
I formatted the planner for two different size sheets of paper. I’ve been using legal paper (8.5″ x 14″) which gives me more breathing room on each of the days, but I know a lot of people don’t have that special size just kicking around the house. So I also created an 8.5″ x 11″ version. It’s a little bit more squished, but if you write small, it’ll get the job done. On the legal size, I kept the goal-setting section so you can make sure to set intentions for the week and have a constant visual reminder right there on your planner. I also left a spot for a reward. I use that spot to reward myself for checking off all my water intake, food diary and workout bubbles for the week. On the letter size, those items went away due to space constraints.
Eventually, I’d love to be able to offer healthy living planners already assembled and ready to go for a fee. Maybe that’s a project for 2014! But for now, I hope you guys enjoy this blank version. Happy planning!
It’s that time of month again for me to pay homage to the folks that help make the 35+ posts a month I do here possible. I’m so grateful to have the support of awesome companies each month so I can keep on doing what I love to do.
It’s actually a little slow around here, but that’s okay, because it gives me more space to focus on my one amazing sponsor for this month. This company deserves its own post!
