Tune in every other Friday for a new giveaway!

Oh boy! Do I have a fun one for you guys this week! When you are trying to get on track with food or fitness, do you ever feel like you just need your own personal coach who is there to check up on you, offer advice and support and just generally hold you accountable for your health and fitness choices?

If your answer is yes, then this giveaway is for you!

committed

My dear friend, Coach Krissie from Committed Coaching is offering one BTHR reader a free spot in her February Jump-Start. What is the Jump-Start? Well, Coach Krissie works with you over the first 10 days of February to get you in a good place with your fitness, food and general health. You’ll set goals together, she’ll check up on you daily and by the end of the 10 days, you’ll have an amazing burst of momentum to keep your healthy lifestyle going.

I feel so fortunate to have Krissie in my life, and I know you guys will feel that way, too!

me krissie

More from Krissie herself about the Jump-Start:

We’ll set up a time to chat for about 30 minutes, either by phone or skype. We’ll talk about your big picture goals and then focus on a few specific ways to get started—or keep momentum—on them. These specific behaviors, usually three or four goals, will be what we focus on through the Jump-Start. My typical clients usually focus on health, wellness, home, or time-management goals. I will check in on you daily through the Jump-Start. I’ll either text or email you to remind you of your goals and help keep you focused. We’ll problem-solve responses to challenges that come up.

Krissie is a therapist and certified running coach (although, your goals don’t have to be running-focused) and one of the kindest, sweetest, most motivational people I’ve ever met. She has dropped 60 pounds, ran a marathon and is living her dream of helping other people be the best they can be. If you’re looking for a coach—this is your girl. In fact, I’ll be working with Krissie during her next challenge. Everyone needs someone like Krissie in their lives!

  1. I’m finally going on the right track (lost another 1.6 pounds this week!) and I feel like this is when I start to unravel and my personal accountability goes awry. Now that I’m actually down 6ish pounds since the beginning of the year, I don’t want to back track and I feel having someone there to remind me and keep me accounted for everything would be a great help. Sounds like the cliche answer I know, but I need this.

  2. Oh man this is an amazing giveaway. I could use someone in my life to help me get over this plateau. I’ve lost 111lbs on my own but for the past year have been gaining/losing the same 10lbs over and over. I can’t seem to break through the wall to lose the final 50lbs!

  3. This is INCREDIBLE. I’m a little past 13 weeks pregnant with my first child and I will admit, I’ve definitely gotten a bit lazy/complacent in terms of getting things done around the house – especially with how sick I’ve been. Now that I’m finally starting to feel a bit better, I would love to have someone keep me on task and making sure that I’m actually contributing to the house, instead of just the mess!

  4. I could use an extra push of momentum to get me through the last 20. I have lost 40 over 2012, and have really been struggling getting my head back in the game.

  5. I’ve been up and down the same 20 lbs for the past 2 years, and I really need to lose about 60 lbs. I can get lower health insurance rates if I lose 10 lbs, it would put me in a lower rate bracket. Like many, I’m not as disciplined as I would like to be.

  6. I would love someone to keep me more accountable for my fitness. I did nothing all of December, and am flailing with my 1.5 or 2 mile run. I want to run further, and want to be accountable!

  7. Accountability is the reason I’ve signed up for Weight Watchers meetings and not changing my diet myself, even though I know what I should be eating and how much. I’d love an extra boost of accountability to make good habits stick.

  8. I am not commenting to win, but to say how much Coach Krissie has helped *me*. Whomever wins this–you’re gonna be so happy!!
(And if by some random chance my comment comes up as winner, please go to the next person!)

  9. I know that I need to lose weight, but I honestly don’t know how. I hear eat less move more and I get that, but then I am totally bombarded by all the new diets and workouts, what is good, what is bad…it is all just so much for me to take in and I just need a simple jump start! “This is what you need to start”…kind of help. I would love this and take full advantage.

We just moved to a new state and I know nobody so the accountability would be great for me!

  10. What an incredible give away! Something that I could REALLY use right now! I am a wannabe runner and have signed up for TWO 5k’s in the spring! I started the Couch to 5k program but got derailed by the weather and darkness. I have two months to get ready for my first 5k in which I plan to RUN! I need HELP!!

  11. Goodness! How timely! I’m moving from Maryland to California on Monday and am ready to get back into my healthy and active lifestyle. I’ve taken a bit of a break lately – enjoying the local foods and taking my emotions out on food. I could sure use a kick start when I arrive at my new home!

  12. I need help. So much so that just reading this post made me tear up. Or it could be PMS. I’m not sure.

I’m 37 years old. I have been overweight my entire adult life. I started to get healthy a few years ago after the birth of my first son. I lost 25lbs, started walking and running a little. I felt great. It was the first time in my life that I was taking care of myself. Then last December, I got pregnant with my 2nd son. He’s almost 6 months old now. I rejoined Weight Watchers, have lost 15lbs, but I’m just…here. I’m not exercising. I’m half-assing Weight Watcher. I’m half-assing my life, and I don’t know why.

I need help. I adore Krissie, and would love to hire her when I have the money. I want to be a healthy role model for my boys. And above all, I hate the feeling that’s crept back — that I’m destined to be overweight and unhealthy.

Sorry that that turned into a bit of a vent. :)

    Thanks for hosting this giveaway.

  13. How cool! What a great opportunity. The extra accountability can always help. And how nice of your friend! :)

  14. What a great idea! I lost around 80 pounds a couple of years ago and I’ve gained around 25 lbs back! It’s frustrating, but I’ve recently turned over a new leaf. Having this opportunity would be super helpful.

  15. Wow! This is a great offer, a great offer I could definetly use. I have just over 100lbs to lose. I started off the year on a positive note, had lost 9lbs. My dog got sick a few weeks ago, back and forth to different vets, it looks like we may have to put him down. Taz, my German Shepherd has been through everything with me, my divorce, my move from Wisconsin to Wyoming, the ups and downs of life and now I have a family with a 6yr old who has always known him… Anyways, the possibility of saying goodbye to him has put me into complete binge/emotional eating. I need to lose the weight for myself and my daughter, I just can’t pull my head out of my butt. Then again, maybe its not the right time for a coach, maybe I should wait. I don’t know. I am going to throw in my entry, close my eyes and hope for something. I may even buy a lottery ticket this weekend…

  16. I need someone to hold me accountable because I need a reality check. I need to face my bad habits and to get on track.

  17. I know Krissie and I can confirm that she is fantastic! That said, I need some accountability right now. I’m struggling to get on track and stay there!

  18. I was just getting ready to write a blog post about needing someone to hold me accountable! I need someone to hold me to my food goals, to make sure that I don’t get lazy and go the “easy” route rather than the “healthy” route… even though really, if I’m honest, the healthy is the easy.

  19. I am really trying to improve my 5k time, and I need all the help I can get to meet my goal of running a 5k race each month this year!

  20. I reeeeeeeeeeally want this prize because i’ve just started my 110 pound weight loss journey, since january 1 i’m down 11 pounds…i registered to run my first relay in may and feel like this would be the perfect “jumpstart” for my training!!!

  21. I need someone to hold be accountable because I have realized how important that is. I have tried loosing weight and getting healthier on my own and I have tried it with a dietician checking in on me and I definetly know which one works better. Someone having someone hold be accountable makes me know that I dont NEED that extra slice of bread and that all I am doing is cheating myself. I want to get healthy I want to be healthy I want to run that 5k that I so badly injured myself training for a year ago.

  22. I coul use some extra help and coaching!!! I committed to a healthy lifestyle including running and working out last year. I started in April and hadn’t felt as good as I did in years. I got sick over the holidays and everything fell apart. Temptation got the best of me and I’m having a really hard time getting back on track :( . Help would be so great right now!!!

  23. I have been graually eating healthy and watching portions but am having a VERY difficult time taking it to the next level. I can’t seem to get motivated to start an exercise program and have an all or nothing mentality when it comes to my food choices…as soon as I have one ‘bad’ day, I give up. I could really use some help getting past this…

  24. I definitely need this. I’ve really fallen by the wayside as far as my healthy lifestyle is concerned. I’m starting the journey again and a personal coach to help encourage and support me would be such a help.

  25. I would LOVE to win this….I am working on my fitness/eating, organizing and decluttering my home and completing personal (craft, reading, home) projects.

  26. I have been struggling with my extra 20 pounds since I was middle school aged, I need something new to keep me going and finding a lifestyle that I can maintain

  27. Oh, wow. I would love to win this. I am just starting out on what is unfortunately going to be a very long journey back to myself, and it’s daunting. I feel like I don’t know where to start. This would be an amazing gift.

  28. I would really appreciate a chance to work with Krissie. I am the director of a drop-in center for homeless and at-risk teens. I realized Friday that while I thought I was doing a good job of compartmentalizing their struggles when I go home, my personal life is suffering because I feel overwhelmed by what I see these kids experience. I’d love to have someone check in with me and ask how I am doing each day even if it’s only for ten days. I’ve found physical movement is the most helpful thing I can do to deal with the stress, yet I set it aside to get other things done. I just joined a gym and am excited to start taking time for myself. Thank you.

  29. I’d love the opportunity to work with Krissie. I’m working hard to lose with my eating…not so much with my exercise. :-( I need a plan and some accountability.

  30. I’ve managed to lose weight on my own… but have been struggling to get to my goal weight for 2+ years now. I do well for a little bit, but then slip and fall and have no one but myself to keep me on track. It would be wonderful to get that guidance for a little while and really get things moving!

  31. Dear Cassie!

What a wonderful giveaway! And it is open to international readers! Well I don’t know what time it is now in the U.S. but I hope I can still try to win.

I would love to get coached by Chrissie (I am following her (and you) on Twitter for quite a while now) and she could help me to get back on track. I struggled with lots of illnesses last year and did not get back on my workout track since christmas. I want to get fitter, lose a bit of weight and most of all: be motivated and have fun.

Lots of luck to all the others
    Katrin from Germany :)

  32. This sounds awesome! I’m getting married in September, and my best friend is getting married in April. While both of my dresses FIT, they could always fit better. Plus, I’d hate to get to the day and have the dress NOT fit! I’m trying to eat better and exercise more, and it would be great to have a little bug in my ear reminding me every day of why I’m working so hard :)

  33. Awesome giveaway…I would love to be coached – I feel like I am oh so close to making some breakthroughs in how I look at my health but could use that extra push from someone who cares. I’m also working on stopping my tendency to try to do everything without the help from anyone else so this would come at the perfect time for me.

  34. I love reading through these comments and I want to get to know you all! If you are interested – even though you didn’t win – enter “backtoherroots” in the “how you heard” spot and save $5 on the jumpstart challenge!
